Project Outlook: Faculty and alumni present piece on the playa

In just a week, a lifetime’s worth of inexplicable stimuli is presented in Black Rock City, Nev. All 50,000 temporary residents prepare well before the event in hopes of contributing just an ounce of their own to the collective spirit known to most as Burning Man.

Sierra Nevada College Art Professor Russell Dudley and Gallery Coordinator Logan Lape fundraised and planned months in advance to ensure Project Overlook’s success on the playa. Below is a discussion with the artists regarding on-the-spot revisions, working conditions and an unexpected pitch with the wind.
