Why do Europeans come to America to study and ski?
Back home you cannot study and ski at the same time. You need to do one or the other, so this is kind of the only option.
What is your favorite part about SNC?
I kind of like how small it is. It is so much easier to meet and get to know people. I think it’s also good that the classes are small so you get to know the professors.
How long have you been studying English?
Quite long, I started when I was around 13 but, I have never used it. In Europe we never speak it. We just learn it through books.
What is your favorite part about Tahoe?
It reminds me of my hometown, a small ski community. But, I really like the lake, it’s amazing. I also like that it gets pretty warm, so much warmer than back home
How do you like the ski team?
It is great, I love it. It is pretty crazy we only have one American on the ski team. But when you’re a little homesick, you can hang out people feel the same.
How is your training for the ski team?
It’s actually a little easier than at home. Because at home I was only doing sports, skiing was my main thing. We had practice twice a day and I was only training. Here is more school and it’s kind of balancing everything.
Are you happy to be here?
Yeah I am. I get homesick sometimes. I’m happy that I made the decision, every year after high school I told myself this year I will go, this year I will go. I like it and I like this area, you can travel to California and everywhere so easily.
